I'm going to have to think about this a little bit...what to say to introduce myself?
But for now...I'm a 39 year old mom of 3. I spend most of my time at home, but my husband and I are both on the staff of Campus Crusade. I'm a Jersey girl, born and bred--I've never lived anywhere else, and I love it here. However, I don't have the accent, I'm not into bling or big hair, and I'm actually a nice person. :)
Mark and I have been married for 16 years, though that feels impossible. Our three kids, Joy (8), Will (4), and Jack (2), are the greatest blessing and by far the greatest challenge of my life.
Before we joined Campus Crusade I taught high school English and drama for 5 years in a great little Christian school. Teaching English is in my blood. I LOVE literature and language, and while I could care less whether you (or I, for that matter) use correct grammar in conversation (or in any capacity related to blogging, btw), I find it extremely irritating when people make catchable errors in printed materials or, worse yet, on signs.
I love, love, love to sing. I'm not amazing, but I can hold my own, and in the last year I've had some fun opportunities in that area. I'm hoping to build on those before I hit 40.
What else? I'm a slob, but I'm married to a neat freak, so I'm working on it. I don't think I'll ever be a good housekeeper, though. I can't handle suspense in almost any form...I leave the room when Matlock goes snooping around in someone's office in an unauthorized fashion, and I read the entire plot of a movie before I go to see it. I'm sort of an extreme optimist. I'm opinionated about most topics.
Oh, one more thing you maybe should know, since it's referenced on the list and elsewhere in here: in the last year and a half I've lost about 85 pounds. I haven't been my current size since at least high school. So that's a thing I'm still navigating.
Like I said...I need to think about it. But that should hold you for now. :)
